Newsletter Signup

If you use an email newsletter service such as the University's Listserv, MailChimp, Constant Contact or the like, there are a few ways to allow your website visitors to sign up. Since each newsletter service is different, you are responsible for knowing the specifics. WDS provides the following as general guidance: 

Simple Method: Link

Locate the signup URL provided by your specific newsletter service and link to it. It is most common to add a link to your website’s Utility Menu or Footer 

Advanced Method: Webform

Create a webform that posts to your newsletter service.

Example: 

Webform with a field for an email address, radio buttons for subscribe/unsubscribe, and and submit button.

Note: WDS does not support the embedding of HTML snippets or APIs for this purpose due to long term maintainability and security.
