Version 2.0 Release Notes - September 16, 2020

  • #180: Various improvements to styling for Tiger theme. The "dark" and "light" theme options for the "Feature" block have new styling. The close button for alerts has been updated to be a larger "X" icon with no background. The icon used to represent external links in alerts has been updated to display better on darker backgrounds. The copyright text in the footer is now centered.
  • #503: Several minor improvements to layout management. The buttons for deleting and editing a layout section have been updated to be clearer to see and use. The "Add custom block" link has been removed from the layout management sidebar when adding a block. Instead, the blocks that were revealed when clicking that link are now displayed in the main list of blocks under heading "General purpose".
  • #595: If there is a form validation error when adding a block to a layout, the layout sidebar is now automatically scrolled to the top so users can see the validation error.
  • #739: Fixed the theme appearance setting that controls if a site sub-name appears before or after the main site title. Previously it would always appear after.
  • #810: Renamed the "Author" role to "Content Author" to better align with the name of the existing "Content Manager" role.
  • #815: Renamed "Main navigation" menu to "Main" and "Utility menu" to "Utility"
  • #819: Several minor changes to the admin menu and admin pages have been made to improve clarity and organization:
    • The main "People" page and menu item, used for managing user accounts on sites, has been changed to "Users".
    • A new admin menu link under "Content" has been added for "Content Library" to provide consistency with the other libraries that are provided in this menu (for media, documents, etc). Additionally, these admin pages have been renamed to include "Library" in the title.
    • The "scheduled" tab, used for displaying news and events that are scheduled to be published, has been moved so it's a sub-tab within the main content dashboard instead of a tab alongside it.
    • The Webforms admin menu item has been moved. Instead of being accessed under "Structure", it's now a top level menu item between "Content" and "Structure"
    • The admin menu item for managing the footer layout and content has been renamed from "Footer layout" to "Footer"
  • #820: The small pencil icon button that appeared to content managers and site admins when hovering over certain parts of a page has been removed. This same icon button is used for managing blocks in a page's layout, so its other uses were removed to avoid confusion.
  • #843: Pages shared on Twitter in a tweet will now display as a "card", using the featured image of the page and teaser text.
  • #851: Fixed various accessibility issues for news author display on news detail pages. Configured news author to display by default on newly provisioned sites.
  • #856: Updated billboard image field description to better indicate that an image is required even if creating a video billboard. Improved some of the form field labels and descriptions on content list blocks to make their purpose clearer.
  • #858: Billboards will now always link the entire billboard to the optional "read more" URL, unless the billboard is very large. The config options to control if the entire billboard is clickable or not has been removed. The toggle to control if the title is linked to the "read more" URL has also been removed and will now always be linked. These changes were part of various accessibility improvements to the billboard.
  • #860: Fixed issue where the "all day" checkbox on date fields on some custom content types was not usable
  • #876: Site admins can now control the padding applied to blocks in a layout's sections. A site-wide default can be set in the theme appearance page for the Tiger theme. Individual sections can also be edited to override the theme default. There are options for zero padding, or small/medium/large, with the default for new sites set to medium.
  • #877: The content on news article detail pages on the Tiger theme is now restricted to a smaller maximum content width.
  • #885: Fixed various block layout issues. Content list blocks displayed as a grid will now always show 2 columns in a row on mobile/small screen displays. Alignment of date badge for events list block grid display has been adjusted. Fixed image alignment issues for people list block grid display. Other minor tweaks to list block output.
  • #889: Help text has been added beneath the "Name" field for images and other media to help indicate its purpose. The thumbnail size shown after an image has first been uploaded has been increased. There's is now a link to view the original image uploaded directly on the image edit form. The help text for the image crop tool has been updated to clarify how it works.
  • #890: The people list block now defaults to using the portrait aspect ratio for displaying images, keeping it consistent with the default aspect ratio on person detail pages.
  • #893: Fixed an issue on several sites where it was difficult to edit the footer layout due to styling conflicts.
  • #892: Fixed an issue where the image crop tool would not correctly remember a previously saved crop area.
  • #898: Fixed issue where content slider could break a page if configured a certain way.
  • #911: The "Horizontal, with exposed 2nd level" menu option for the Tiger theme will now display correctly as it was designed to.
