Release Highlights

Course Catalog List Block

Site Builder has always offered the ability to import and display a list of courses from a particular term (e.g., all the Math classes offered in Fall 2024, like what's shown on the Registrar's Course Offerings website). This is possible thanks to the Courses module, which supports importing courses into the Course A collection of fields that describe a specific type of content, like a news article, a person, or an event. Site admins can add additional content types by enabling optional modules. WDS can also create custom content types for a site. and displaying them with the Course Offerings List block.

This release provides the new Course Catalog List Block, offering the ability to display courses from the course catalog, which is similar to what's shown on the Undergraduate Announcement website and the Graduate School website. The course catalog doesn't have an association to a specific term, and can be useful if you want to showcase the list of permanent courses offered by your department.

The new block does not require a separate import process. Simply add and the block to a page, select what subjects to display, and you're done. This differs from the Course Offerings by Term List block (previously named Course Offerings List block) which requires you to first import the list of courses to display into the Course content type.

The Course Catalog List Block is available on sites that have the Courses module enabled.
